Excessive Sleepiness In Night Shift Workers
The mismatch between the body’s internal clock and the required nighttime work schedule can result in a circadian rhythm misalignment, which causes excessive sleepiness, insomnia and impaired functioning. Given the seriousness of the condition, the very low number of approved agents and their limitations, there is an urgent nedd for treatment options. This clinical trial is assessing the safety and efficacy of Solriamfetol (an approved treatment for excessive daytime sleepiness associated with narcolepsy or OSA) in people with excessive sleepiness associated with working night shifts
- Duration of the study will last approximately 12 to 17 weeks
- Randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, multi-center, 2 arm parallel group trial
- Enrolled subjects will be required to complete in 2-3 office visits, 8 telehealth, and 3 overnight sleep studies.
- Enrolled subject will be randomly assigned to take the study drug 150 mg or placebo (50% chance of placebo)
- Enrolled subjects will be compensated for their participation
